THE ROLE

The Sales Manager is a motivated and strategic communicator who will be reporting directly to the Head of Partnerships - THE PRO to generate sponsorship sales and secure strategic partnerships for this newly created golf entity for current and former professional athletes (multiple events each year). You will be expected to co-create sponsorship proposals tailored to the unique needs of the potential partners, showcasing innovative activation ideas, and ultimately closing deals to secure signed contracts. You will be expected to work closely with the internal team to ensure the seamless execution of sponsorship agreements. The Sales Manager role demands a keen understanding of golf, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to navigate negotiations successfully.

THE WORK YOU WILL DO 

  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities by proactively prospecting and targeting potential sponsors across multiple industries as well as national and regional sponsorships, pro-am, hospitality, and branding opportunities.

  • Lead presentations to business community members, club memberships and other key players in order to create strong community relationships.

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with sponsors, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.

  • Collaborate with sponsors to understand their marketing/hospitality objectives and tailor sponsorship packages to meet their specific needs.

  • Create compelling and customized sponsorship proposals that effectively showcase the value proposition.

  • Work closely with the marketing and events teams to incorporate innovative activation ideas that maximize sponsor visibility and engagement, (including digital).

  • Lead negotiations with potential sponsors, demonstrating a deep understanding of their business goals and aligning them with the unique opportunities.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, client services, operations, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of sponsorship agreements.

  • Provide real time tracking on sales progress, forecasts, and market trends to the Head of Partnerships – THE PRO.

  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of sponsorship leads, ensuring a consistent and sustainable revenue stream.

  • Attend and represent the company at events to expand the company's visibility and attract potential sponsors. 

THINGS ABOUT YOU

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field and/or 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • You possess knowledge and a passion for the sports and entertainment industry.

  • Proven track record of success in sponsorship sales, preferably in the sports or events industry.

  • Strong understanding of the golf industry and its key players.

  • You are a strategic thinker and leader - innately curious, thoughtfully aware, and eager to learn.

  • You have exceptional attention to details, preparation, and quality.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

  • You are solution oriented - skilled at anticipating challenges and developing multiple solutions.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

  • You take accountability and know when to ask for help.

  • Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, events, and industry conferences.

  • This position is fully remote.

  • $80,000 - $90,000 per year + Commission
